Charles Moyer Circus Bandleader

Charles Franklin "Skip" Moyer was born on October the 5th, 1939 at Sunbury, Pennsylvania. His parents were Charles Lincoln Moyer and Lucetta Emma Wise. Moyer grew up in Sunbury and graduated from the Sunbury High School.

Charles was a versatile showmen and circus musician, often he would play both the trumpet, drums and lead the band simultaneously. During his long career he performed with many U.S. circuses and in the 1970s owned his own circus "Charles Brothers Continental Circus".

In September of 1971 Charles married Jessie Viola Claxton (nee Hay) in Rosenhawn, N.J. Over 200 guest attened the wedding with showman Tex Maynard serving as best man.

II think that anyone who had ever worked with Charles or Jesse would agree, that they were two of the nicest people in show business. Charles always had a smile on his face and a bright and cheerful outlook no matter what.
