Robert and Doris Earl began their circus careers as aerialist, the duo performed at circuses, fairs and amusement parks. In 1964 the couple took out the "Robert G. Earl Circus" with Doris as the featured aerialist. The show was a mild success and was only on the road for two seasons, 1965-1965. There is very little in or mat ion is available on this show. For the next few years Robert and Doris worked on various shows, Robert as a show electrician and Doris as an aerialist then later in ticket sales. In 1974 they once again opened a show the "Roberts Bros. Circus", the new show was bit larger and with better equipment than on the Earl's first circus. The Roberts Bros became a beautiful small family show. Family, not only included the Earls Robert, Doris their two sons Bobby and Jeff, but the entire show became family to Robert and Doris. In 1978, after the close of the Royal Ranch Wild West Circus, the Earls bought part of the equipment from Ozzie Schleentz. Robert Earl died in 1986, Doris, Bobby and Jeff and daughters in law LeAnn and Teresa kept the show going for many years. In 2001 Doris was battling cancer and the family made a decision to close the show at the end of the season. Robert G. Earl passed away on July 19, 1986, in Sarasota, FL Doris Earl passed away 1n 2001, just after the final closing of the Robert Bros. Circus..
