From 1994 until 2006, former carnival owner and amusement ride manufacturer Bob Childress operated the Hendricks Bros. Circus. After selling the Hendricks Bros. Childress framed a new show from ground up. The new circus was titled the "Lewis & Clark Circus. The new show was smaller and framed to be more efficient than the Hendricks Bros, it was transported on all pick-up trucks. Bob's first circus the Hendricks Bros. had toured primarily the East Coast of the United States. With his new Lewis & Clark Circus, Childress expanded his route, performing as far west as Texas. After framing the new circus Bob purchased three young tigers which he trained himself and presented the act in the show. In 2013, Childress sold the Lewis & Clark Circus. to circus performers, Lena and Vandier dos Reis, who continue to operate it today.
